Admissions

International students must:
• Complete an application for admission.
• Produce proof of proficiency in English…
o TOEFL scores: 61 or higher
o IELTS scores: 5.5 band or higher
o SAT, ACT, or other standardized English testing scores can also be considered on a per-applicant basis.
o Students with TOEFL scores of 60 or lower, or IELTS scores below the 5.5 band, will be placed into a 4-12 month ESL program.
o Applicants who have successfully completed secondary school in these select countries may not be required to provide TOEFL/IELTS scores.
• Present the equivalent of an American high school diploma and official copies of all academic records. Non-English college transcripts and high school diplomas must be accompanied by certified translations and evaluations from an accredited agency.
• Complete a Certification of Finances to show they can pay for their first year’s expenses.
• Write a 250-600 word essay on a subject of their choice or pick from topics given by Goodwin
• Provide one academic letter of recommendation.
• Provide copy of valid passport information page.
International students should hear within two weeks of submitting a complete application on their admissions status. Once they are admitted to Goodwin College, they can place a deposit and take the next step in the process.

Residential Life

International students at Goodwin College will have multiple housing options available to them.
Goodwin owns numerous houses and apartments within walking distance of its academic buildings. The College updates and establishes these residences for students and has an Intercultural Living and Learning corridor.
The Intercultural Living and Learning corridor begins at One Riverside Drive where multiple academic and administrative buildings are located. Within a few safe, walking minutes there are single rooms, shared kitchen and bath apartments at King Court and single rooms, shared kitchen and bath apartments on Ensign Street. All of these options are owned and maintained by the College.
Students who are in the Living and Learning corridor will enjoy all the offerings of Goodwin’s residence support services. This includes Goodwin Security monitoring, emergency services, frequent shuttle services to area supermarkets for food shopping and area retail locations for other necessities. Students will also have the option for an experiential component with monthly trips to regional cities and attractions changing each semester.
A short public bus ride away, Goodwin can recommend apartment and condominium style living options for international students. Should students choose for these options, they will be responsible for their own transportation to and from campus. Students will have the option of adding the experiential component on to their fees should they choose to arrange their own housing.
