SCSU’s main campus is located in West Rock, a neighborhood of the city with convenient access to downtown New Haven and West Rock Ridge State Park. And while quick and convenient public transportation is available to both New York City (1 ½ hours) and Boston (2 ½ hours), New Haven itself provides easy access to the scenic Connecticut shoreline, as well as the picturesque towns and villages of Connecticut’s Northeast corner, the Berkshires in Massachusetts, and many other lovely New England settings.

But where can an SCSU student study abroad?
Just about anywhere, really. Southern offer domestic students the opportunity to study in countries such as Spain, France, Germany, China, Vietnam and others at costs similar to a semester spent at home. If none of our exchange partners catch your eye, you can also choose to study abroad via one of our third-party affiliates. Through programs such as ISEP, CISabroad, AIFS and others, Southern students have access to courses in more than 80 countries. We also offer short-term, faculty-led programs each Summer, Winter and Spring recess. And don’t worry, OIE’s thorough application process strives to ensure that any course taken abroad can be transferred back to SCSU.
